Halfway there

I've joined in on a quilt-along at Ellison Lane http://ellisonlane.blogspot.com/2012/10/improv-log-cabin-tutorial-scrappy-stash.html
I'm making 42 blocks and I'm halfway there!! It's forcing me to organize my scraps and I feel good about that. On an unrelated note I went to Joann's the other day because batting was on sale. I don't buy too much fabric there, but sometimes they have cute kids print just perfect for donation quilts. But I was amazed or rather dismayed to see many fabrics at 12.99 and 10.99 a yard! Even with a coupon, I won't be buying too much fabric from them in the future.
It was dangerous getting this picture, we've had a bumper crop of acorns this year. I swept this morning and the deck is covered with them again. The acorns were raining down on us. Molly scooted off the porch, maybe Molly and I need hardhats -matching yellow ones?!

I love the look on Molly's face...like "you've got to be kidding me." So will you be making a big dent in your scrap pile with these blocks or could you make 42 more? They look wonderful.

Have fun in the quilt a long Lynn....I see all those acorns....does that mean you have squirrels also?

What pretty scrap blocks. Good way of using stash. I think more of us are going to be making scrappy quilts in the future the way fabric prices are rising. (Poor cotton harvests I was told.) Just today I was invited to buy a Halloween range for £13/m. No way!

Leaves are falling here too. Thankfully the neighbour only has a sycamore so no hard hats here. Did have A+E today with son and a cut though.

I saw that quilt along but I don't really keep my scraps. I hand them off to others.
I had a acorn hit my car the other day as I was driving down the road. Scared me to death. it was like a gun shot.

Love your blocks. My colors! :-) I agree. If I have to pay that much for fabric I'd rather have really good fabric. Love the look on Molly's face!
