I've been working on the Paris quilt.
I wanted to finish it before my daughter moved into her dorm. And then she picked out a comforter and lamp and some fun accessories in aqua and yellow and I put it aside. Then she asked if it was ready and I told her no, but it would be soon. The definition of soon is open to interpretation. But it's all laid out, and pinned and now it's on to quilting it! Sunday I was a little down thinking about my daughter's moving into her dorm, so I decided to treat myself to a little drive and a visit to a new quilt shop Lonestar Mercantile. I shop at a smaller version of this store at our State Fairgrounds which is open on the weekend. I didn't take pictures, but here's a link heavy with pictures http://lonestarmercantile.blogspot.com. Since my two favorite local shops have shut down, I appreciated the shopping trip.

It's hard when your children start leaving home isn't it? But once I'd got used to it I really appreciated having a tidier house, less washing, less cooking and washing up, less being a taxi service, less worrying when they were out and more time for myself. I hope you feel the same way soon.

Pretty in Pink. Paris Polka Dots. Such a pretty quilt. I think it's harder on the Mom's when kids leave home, even if she's only going a few miles away. It's then we realize, they're "almost" all grown up! My first moved to the other side of the country. It's when you get those calls "I'm so sick" that gets you worrying. You'll be able to just drive on over.

Good luck finishing the uni quilt. I am having the same with my daughter's uni quilt. I've been dodging the craft room since I got back.
