More help please?

How does one do a zig-zag quilting line. I assume I use a zig-zag stitch on my sewing machine but not sure what setting to use. I remember seeing this on a blog demonstrated - but after looking through my list I can't find the bookmarked one.
For now I'm off our farmer's market before the kids get home from school to buy peaches for jam and preserves if it isn't too late in the season.
Coming tomorrow .... a finish!

I would use an open zig zag stitch. Lengthen the stitch length. Make up a small sample quilt, about 12" square and run some stitches to see which one you like.
If you want to go a bit funky, take the foot off and drop the feed dogs witha zig zag stitch. It's an interesting effect. Just watch your fingers

I saw that too, if I remember correctly it was on Tall Grass Prairie blog, she had a link to the blog that showed how it was done. A speciality stitch on a Bernina I think. Depending on your machine, I'd just have a play with some of the stitches you have on your machine and see which one you prefer.

Good luck Lynn. I've also seen a 3 stage zig zag but i have little experience of proper grown up quilting. I am still in the ditch. :-)
