Tomatoes

We have lots of tomatoes here, lots and lots. My favorite tomato dish? A tomato sandwich. I bought some fresh bread from the bakery - with one whole tomato sliced, some salt and pepper and mayonaise (Dukes - the mayonaise of the south) and well - it's what summer is all about. I've been eating a lot of them. So in honor of my love of tomatoes I made a new table topper.

Speaking of summer - I think it's over here - because the kids went back to school today! Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy them being home - but I'm glad to get back into a routine. Already this morning I've done laundry, dishes, took the dog on her 2 mile walk around the lake, blogged and now I'm off to play tennis. I'm even going to get some sewing in this afternoon!

Cute. I have critters enjoying my Purple Cherokee tomatoes. I've only had one edible one so far. However they're leaving the Red Pear vine alone. I miss my cat.

I love the smell of warm tomatos. A friend grows them commercially under glass for supermarkets.

What a super table topper. Every time you look at it you will think of this Summer.

So glad to see that you got some tomatoes. Our plants have done horrible this year. Love your little table topper.

we have had such a weird summer that we have had few and small tomatoes this year :O(
Your table topper is darling!

Most of our tomato plants got the blight this year, so they're going to be very precious when the remaining few ripen. I know what you mean about the children going back to school - you can have too much of a good thing!

Love the table topper.

I love sugar and salt on my tomatoes. Yes I know it's strange but that's just me.
We've still got another week and a bit of Gemma's company before I pack her off to school.

Love and hugs Gina xxx

What a cute table topper, Lynn. Your tomatoes look wonderful; we just can't grow them here, and I do love homegrown ones. It's feeling a lot like fall here...... even though school dosen't start till after Labor Day.
