100+ post give-away

I am a little late in celebrating my 100 post give-away. I have been worried about my disorganized ways and spent the first two weeks of the New Year - not doing any sewing until my sewing room was better organized. I gathered all my quilt tops waiting to be finished and here is that result

I also have a few other UFO's - and apparantly this is not a new problem for me, but a lifelong habit - I found this recently - my first and oldest UFO from when I was 9!!! Which makes it 30 some years old.

In honor of my procrastinating ways I am giving away (to a randomly chosen commenter) this fat quarter bundle and someother nifty things.
All you have to do is send me a comment telling me how old is your oldest UFO. If you don't have any UFO's that's okay (we won't hold it against you) you may still comment. I will close this give-away at 5:00pm (EST) Friday February 6th. Maybe I'll spent my week finishing my 30 year old UFO.

And by the way I still need 3 people who would like to participate in a Pay It Forward so if you would like to join in - let me know (read January 8th's post for more information)

My oldest UFO is probably about 15 years old, maybe older. My mom, sister and I started a BOM and got all the blocks but never put them all together. They are still sitting there patiently waiting!
Congratulations on your 100th post! WOOHOO!!!

Hello Lynn, I do hope you manage to get someone to join in on your PIF. Come on people, it will be fun!!! Congratulations on 100 posts, it never seems that you'll get there does it, but then the next 100 seem to race past. The only UFO I have is about one month old! I made it just before Christmas and is only waiting for me to buy some wadding and then I'll finish it.

My oldest Ufo is probably about 6 years old. It is a quilt I was making for my friend and his Fiancee for their wedding. A few months before the wedding they had an almighty row and called the whole thing off. they haven't spoken since. I asked him if he wanted the quilt as I would finish it for him but he decided to keep it as a wedding gift for the future. Triuble is the swine is enjoying playing the field and there's no wedding in sight so I've got no motivation to finish the quilt.

Congrats on your 100th post

Love and hugs Gina xxx

I have a 25 year old UFO, a quilt I started in High School. Sigh, don't think I can finish it.I still have it for posterity.

Hia Lynn I hope you do manage to finish your very old UFO.

Congratulations on having 100 blog posts!

Ooo I have things just from this year now but there are a lot of them and they all need hand sewing at the moment so slow going.

My longest UFO/WIP was 7 years as I could only work on it in bright light in winter as it was a wool cross stitch in appleton wools only a shade apart. It was 6X3ft when done of a William Morris rug design.

Wow, you really made me think, my oldest UFOs are from 1993, I have two quilt tops I made by following the lessons in the Fons and Porter book "Quilter's Complete Guide".

I had no idea they were that old, maybe I should get my act together and quilt them!

And Congrats!!!

Happy Blogiversary, Lynn. Isn't the last Noah block a cute one? Now, how to put them together.....
My oldest UFO is missing in action somewhere but it's a birth announcement for my middle daughter who's 37......some day maybe..... I've got some pretty old quilt tops, too, but the birth announcement is by far the oldest!

Hi Lyn, my oldest UFO would be 16 years old - it was a quilt which I was paying someone else to complete as I didnt know how to do patchwork at the time, and she took off from the shop and took it with her. I managed to chase her interstate and tracked her down and demanded it back, as I had half paid for it and wanted something for my money - hence I am still working on the blocks, as once I got into quilting, I got distracted my too many patterns, that the basic "block" designs were just left on the backburner. Thanks for reminding me - I will have to get this out this year and complete.

My oldest UFO is from 1974! I took an applique class at a wonderful little quilt shop in Harvard Square (Cambridge, MA) and appliqued a gingerbread man to a square ... and that's as far as it went - no batting, backing, quilting, binding - but it was hanging on my sewing room wall for a while with quilt show pins on it. Now that I recall it, and I actually think I know where it is, I should really haul that out and finish it! Thanks for the incentive!

Well, I can't compete with 30 years, but I know my oldest is 16 years old because that's when I made my first quilt and it's not finished!! I have finished many others, but still have many UFOs. But, I'm whittling the pile though - I just completed two UFOs from 1998 last month o:) Congrats on 100 posts!

I started my first bed-size quilt for my daughter before she left for college, but she is turning 30 this summer and the pieces and parts are still sitting here waiting! Congratulations on your 100th! I enjoy your blog.

My oldest UFO is 18 years old. I started it after my daughter was born. It is an Irish Chain from the book Quilts for People Who Still don't have time to quilt. I still love that book. The top is finished in a king size no less, but needs to be sandwiched and quilted.

Hi, and congratulations on your 100th post! My oldest ufo is 18 to 20 years old. It is a huge cross stitch of antigue Teddy bears and toys. It is nearly finished so I do not know why I have let it sit unfinished

I only have one though my quilting table is full of items to be quilted. It is a grandmothers flower garden that I made 3 years agp and it was ready for me to hand quilt when I decided to clip some of the excess fabric from the back and it came apart.
So I mended it yesterday and I will make some flowery appliqued borders for it.

Congratulations on your 100th post, Lynn! And thank you for a great post about UFO's! I think UFO's have been a way of life for me too.
My oldest UFO is 27 years old. I took my first quilting class when I was pregnant with my second baby--she turns 27 this April. I made a sampler quilt--hand stitched. All 12 blocks are completed and I made 3 rows of 4 blocks and I stopped. I think I've only looked at it twice since then--each time we moved to another house!
I wonder if I'll ever finish it...

Hi,

I was reading blogs from the comment section over on Crazy Mom Quilts and decided to sign up for your giveaway.

My current UFO is a string quilt, baby size, which I put together from some leftover blocks during this past summer. At first it didn’t get finished because I couldn’t find a back I liked but now I have a backing so I just need to get busy and complete it.
