I've decided to join in with Confessions of an Apron Mom's Vintage Thingies Thursday. Here is my pick for the week . The funny thing is that in the front of it my mother wrote our phone # which she had as Ridgeway7-7568. Does anyone recall when phone numbers had letters in them?
Well, I remember when phone numbers had letters. I remember in my head my friends number was BU1-0803Why I remember that is a mystery to me. And let me clear that up by saying I was maybe in first grade. HaHa. Your book is really cute. And wonderful shape. Nice Post for VTT.
What a wonderful book you've got there! Our Uncle Wiggly game is still in the closet, but it's not nearly as cool as the one our grandmother had. Yep, that was when all the phone numbers in our town started with WO (Woodruff) or ED (Edgewood) and that was more years ago than I care to think about!
I don't remember phone numbers w/ locations in them, but my parents still have dial phones that are hard-wired into the walls! That book is a rarity; a lot of the Uncle Wiggily things disappeared when some people decided they were politically incorrect. Hang on to it!

Shucks. I sure do! PI4-8857 PI was for Pilgrim. :-)
Yes in New york our phone number used to begin with Fieldstone. For years I could recite the numbers, but they escape me right now.
I grew up playing the Uncle Wiggly game in the late
1950's in Michigan. Oh my...I loved your book. Such a treasure!
Welcome to VTT.. it is so much fun!
I just love your Uncle Wiggly book.. the illustrations are terrific.

I remember the black rotary phones attached to the wall. My kids can't imagine life w/o a cell ph! :)
Thanks for joining in.

Letters in phone numbers is way before my time, sorry!

I remember one of my phone numbers as a child, but not which house it was:
ST7-5430. (ST=STATE).
Funny, I don't remember my number from 5 years ago, but I remember this one from at least 45 years ago.
