It's a little wonky and very bright - but I'm happy with it. I'm typically not a perfectionist and although it's not perfect - getting all those points to match was a challenge. Who's it for?

Doll swap on it's way to who?

What a surprise!
Yesterday afternoon in between picking up kids - I was checking my email and I read one that said to check my front door ( I typically use my side door) and there was a package from my doll quilt swap partner! From John - aka quiltdad - who lives in the same town as I do. Now the funny thing is I saw the doll quilt on his blog at the end of June and commented how much I liked it. I never dreamt it was for me - I even seriously considered buying that fabric to make my own. There were a lot of goodies in the bag - I'm going to be busy using all that fabric! DD#2 laid claim to the chocolate and I may even treat my husband to some Kilwins Ice Cream. I know I'm overusing exclamation points here - but it was a a wonderful surprise - it really made my week!!!!!

This months Noah's ark is done. I need to finish the binding on my doll swap quilt, and I have something extra for my fabric swap partner that I'm making - just a little something that she may like. Also not to mention the fabric stash challange and the angel swap - don't even get me started on the christmas swaps. At least I'm finished my scrappy circle swap. What have I gotten myself into - there is so much fun out there it's hard to pass them by.

What I've been up to
I've been jumping around working on various projects. I really need to get one thing completed. I thought I had my doll swap quilt top done. But the more I kept looking at it the more the points didn't match and I've taken it apart and have resewn twice now (sorry about the fuzzy picture).
I've also been working on these scrappy circles for a swap. Sometimes when I'm doing something scrappy I really need to resist the urge to match everything up.

a finish today
Finished this today. This was my first time using a charm packet and it was easy.
My sewing machine is still be held hostage at the repair shop. Hopefully it will be coming home Monday or Tuesday. I've been busy making my sewing room tidy and cutting out some future projects.
When I went outside to take a photo of the quilt and I found this little guy on the door mat -

Back from vacation
Back from vacation and ready to sew. Sadly my sewing machine is spending a few more days at the sewing machine hospital than I thought it would. I dropped it off before I left and thought it would be ready. Turns out I need a small part(a screw for the thread plate that's been missing for 2 years) and the technician left on a trip for the next 10 days with my machine apart on his bench. So I guess I'll be forced to baste some quilt tops together for the next several days.
It was a perfect vacation. Lots of time spent on the beach and in the water and ice cream every night! We stayed in a house right on the beach and the ocean was only steps away.
