We've had some lovely days lately, although a little cooler than usual.  My flowers are especially pretty this year, in fact my irises are so big they've become top heavy and fall over

The chickens are really looking like full grown chickens now.  They've become bold and now run to the side of the brooder whenever we step outside.  They used to run from us and hunker down and hide.  They love being hand fed.
They will be moving outside, into their new home as soon as we finish the fence.  This is a fence in a fence as we keep catching glimpses of a fox.  I'm trying not to get too attached, between the fox, the hawks and the neighbor's killer cat I am worried.

I must have had some great karma this week, because I received two packages from some wonderful bloggers
I love these nifty gloves, and am looking forward to trying them out when machine quilting. They are from Em over at Em's Scrapbag http://emsscrapbag.blogspot.com/

I won the giveaway that Dolores was having, her blog is Deeroo Designs.  I've enjoyed her fun, happy blog for some time now.  I'll just show the top layer for now, this was a very generous package and I'm having fun sorting through it.

Lastly, I've been excited about a new dresden plate I've started, well until I sewed the first one together.  I need to repeat some of the fabrics in the plate as the layer cake I bought (Connecting Threads Soaked Collection ) has 17 pieces and I need 20.  But I'm not too pleased at this point, I'll play around with it some more.  Any suggestions?

My irises are starting to open up.
YOur girls are getting bigger. I like the coop. I looks small but I was wondering how big the coop actually is?
Congrats on your wins!
I think I would look through your stash to see if you could find some fabrics that would work for your stash.

Gorgeous flowers. Love the girls! What don't you like about your dresden plate? I think it looks fantastic and I LOVE that fabric. Adding repeats to the plate to get 20 should be totally fine. :o)

I especially like the iris in the third picture, such a pretty colour. When will you start getting eggs from your chickens? And I can't see a problem with your dresden plate, it looks fine.

Congrats on your wins. The fabric looks yummy. Have you thought about hanging old CDs on nearby branches as a deterant to the hawk and cat? It is something that I have seen but not tried so have no idea if it is good or not.

Fab flowers. I like irises too.

Hey, Boo!! You're right, your flowers are absolutely gorgeous!! And your chicks are so cute. I used to love collecting eggs every morning, a long time ago. What a lucky girl you are to be a winner. Your dresden plate is perfect!! Don't change a thing. Finish the rest!

Mmmmm. Yes. My irises are out too. But I don't have such pretty colors! :-)

Those look like garden gloves. Pretty color too. Are they basically the same as the garden ones? I wonder if the cheap garden gloves from Lowes would work? Heh. I never thought to try them.

Love the dresden plate. The only change I would make is to lose the two bright green polka dotty pieces. They kind of shout louder than the others.

I love all your beautiful flowers. Iris are one of my favorite blooms. Could it be because I love purple so much?
