Some things I've learned recently.
Not to be afraid of patterns and color.

I made this block for the 15 minute a day Quilts of Valor www.15minutesplay.com . I love this block, I think I need to start using more color, after seeing this.

I've also learned not to be afraid to try something new. And I learned that I enjoy hand applique!

I've been admiring Stephanie's Dresden plates for a long time and a couple of months ago I decided to give it a try. My only regret is that I don't have more of the charm packs I used for this. I could keep on going. The circles were a little tough, but as I did each one, they improved!
I'm definitely going to be using dresden plates more often. I just need to quilt it.
Thanks Stephanie www.loftcreations.blogspot.com for a great tutorial.

Well you know I just LOVE dresdens. Great job. It's exciting to try something new and be successful. Dresdens are really so much easier than they look and the applique part is easy because the edges are already turned under. :o)

Your dresden blocks are lovely, what are you planning for them? And your choice of colour and pattern for the first block is great too.

Nice! I love Dresden plates. Did you do them with a light interfacing so as to have finished points?
