Practice pays off. I usually don't like heavily quilted quilts. But I really wanted to practice and I am pleased with the way it turned out. I also wanted to do something a little different in the border, which I like also. I used polka-dotted bits from stash, with a dotty backing and border.
My hydrangeas are blooming, this one has never done well until this year, kind of like my machine quilting!

I never knew that these are called lacecap hydrangeas till I read the first comment. There's lots of those & the regular hydrangeas here in Tokyo too. They are so beautiful & comes in white, various shades of pinks & purples, blues ... all so beautiful. As beautiful as your quilt too! Happy summer!
Upir hydrangea is just beautiful!
The quilt has come up lovely with the quilting. Something that I have noticed that is popular with white background quilts is only quilting in the white, it helps to make the more colourful sections stand out more; just something to keep in mind.
I can see that since you started a new blog I have missed heaps of posts - I have browsed back over them but will not leave comments on all. Love all that you have been working on; your A Christmas Story in particular is coming along well! Bec xxx
