The past few days I've been doing something I've had in mind for a long time ... practicing my free motion quilting. With the exception of a few spots so far so good. But why is it when I get to a fabric that the quilting will stand out I do my worst, I have free motion anxiety and the only rememdy is more practice!

You can't get better unless you just do it. I don't strive for perfection in my machine quilting...just doing the best to sastify myself. Can't wait to see the whole project.
My very first comment from Mary at Quilt Hollow was a friendly finger wagging in my face telling me to practice, practice, practice. Good advice! If only I would heed it more often!!
You're braver than me meandering scares the beegeebee's out of me...lol..
Exactly right...practice!! It is like writing your name...didn't you have to write that over and over before you finally got it? :-)
Looks fine to me. In our quilt group, we say if you can't see it from 30 yards on a galloping horse it's fine! At least you did it, right?
love the dotty fabrics Lynn. I'm so bad at twirly quilting so don't do it often when I know I should.
That's so like parking the car - you can do it perfectly until someone's watching!
I love free motion & since the Bernina has a stitch regulator, that helps me even more! Happy weekend from Tokyo!
Oh exactly. I think I made 50 potholders before I freemotioned my first quilt. I want to throw away my first projects but I don't. It helps me remember where I was at one point. Good for you, nice job.
