UFO's - 23 - ME - 5

Thanks to Kris and May for their Finish One Project A Month Challange (see sidebar). This month I've finished 3 UFO's - a Valentines wallhanging, a Christmas quilt and a halloween tree skirt (more about that next October). The Valentine's and the Christmas were very simple pieces - done with the main purpose of practice my free motion machine quilting. Although the main reason I bought my that Christmas flannel was because the houses on it reminded me of my house growing up.
I've spoken before about my dismal machine quilting skills and after practicing some - I think I'm getting better - progressing from dismal to so-so. But I'm happy - 3 OLD UFO's done!

I find the best was to get better at free motion machine quilting is to practice. I haven't done that on my new machine yet but I have a couple of projects waiting for me. Great finishes!

I think I'm at a similar stage with my machine quilting - I can mostly do meanders and loops now without too many sudden pointy bits or crossovers. Like you, I just need to practice more - unlike you though, I haven't got any UFOs to practice on. They look great though.

Well done! That is so wonderful to have got those off your list. They look wonderful. The Valentine one is so sweet.

I think you are brave doing free motion quilting. I am still a wuss when it comes to quilting. I think I will get some 505 spray when I am layering up the Be Attitudes quilt and see if that helps keep everything together.
