Em's Mountain Retreat!

I was delighted to be asked by Em of Em's Scrapbag http://emsscrapbag.blogspot.com/2013/06/mountain-retreat.html to make a sample for her new pattern, Mountain Retreat   It was such a fun, easy pattern.  Truth be told I did a quilt a few years back on the diagonal and had a difficult time of it.  However this pattern helped me get over my fear of that.  I  loved the fabrics  I found for this, and decided that my Mountain should mountain of candy!

This month for Carrie's Nothing But Ufo's http://apassionforapplique.blogspot.com/ I just have one I want to finish. I'm trying to be realistic.

I'm planning on quilting this top.  I've been avoiding this, it's a big quilt and for me a little scary to do.  It's dark and rainy or I would have gotten a better picture.  Trust me though, it's big.

Think of all the possibilities with this fabric.  My whole summer just changed!!

We've been in the middle of a renovation here. When we first moved into this house 8 years ago we gutted almost everything and started from scratch. The only thing we didn't do were the bathrooms. After a leak in one we decided to go ahead and get those done. Here are some before and after pictures. For the record I hated the bathrooms before, I cannot state that strongly enough. And now the afters One bathroom down, one more to go!
