Feeling Crafty

Saw the towel idea on Pleasant Home www.http://www.pleasant-home.com . - it's a great blog with lots of quilty and crafty ideas.
The idea for the jars are from Quilt Taffy www.quilttaffy.blogspot.com .
They originally come courtesy of Love Manor www.lovemanor.com . Check out the gallery and the blog.

I received a give-away from the new grandmother Nanette www.fredashive.blogspot.com . She sent me a darling little bag filled with squares and I am going to have fun playing with them.

Here are a few of them - aren't they cute? Thank you so much Nanette
My bow #6 is finished (again a day late)

I think I have a mouse in my sewing room - Mr. Mad Quilter says he doesn't think so, but I saw him looking behind the bookcase with a flashlight.

On a less hysterical note here are some photos of last weeks trip to the State Fair

Look at that side block with the Gingerbread Man - so cute.

One reason my blog isn't called Diary of a Normal, Calm Quilter

While playing tennis this morning, I looked down and saw this
I learned an important lesson - if you stand there looking at your shoes you will get hit in the head with a tennis ball. And now for some reason, although I was hoping no one at the tennis park would notice I am now sharing it with the entire blog world.

And here's something really terrific that happened to me - I won Nanette's www.fredashive.blogspot.com , give-away - how exciting is that?
I'm finally posting my bow#5 that I'm doing with Melanie www.jellybeanangel2.blogspot.com , Simone www.simonedeklerk.blogspot.com , karen www.messykaren.blogspot.com
But it seems I can't post any pictures due to "internal errors" anyone else have the same problem?

I won!

The red one - that's mine (the blue one has never come home with me - maybe next year)

BOW #4 Finished!

Here's my entry for the blogger's quilt festival www.parkcitygirl.blogspot.com .
I'm proud of this one, it was one of the first I had made. I loved working with wool. But was had really never done it when I began it. I can look at it and see the evolution of my skills. I even made the tulip wreath pattern up myself.
If you've been visiting the blogs participating in the quilt festival - can you believe the quilts you've seen. Some comfy ones, first ones, exquisitely quilted ones, many works of art. Both inspirational and humbling, but such fun to look at them all.

Candy Corn Quilt

Here is a ufo from last year. I used Amanda Jean's www.crazymomquilts.blogspot.com , pattern - raggedy squares. I think it turned out cute - but as much as I like the front - I love the back. Some sale Halloween fabric from Joann's that just shouts cute.

I'm a bit late in showing this week's bow (to make up for it though - I'm almost finished next weeks). Melanie www.jellybeanangel2.blogspot.com , Simone www.simonedeklerk.blogspot.com , karen www.messykaren.blogspot.com and I challanged ourselves to finish one a week. I've seen some finished Christmas Wish quilts on flickr and I love the way they've turned out.

This weekend I went to the thrift store with my daughter and her friends. I bought 5+ yards of purple ricrac. They asked me why I was buying it - I have no idea - any suggestions?

Despite the picture - it really is more purpley.

MY first October Finish!!

October is my favorite month. I love Halloween - plus it's my birthday month (today)! I finished the binding on this table runner early this morning. The pattern is the jolly jingle table runner from Happy Zombie www.http://thehappyzombie.com/blog/?page_id=252. I have to work on my picture taking - it doesn't do justice to how cute this pattern is.
